These marbles were found in the bottom of a cigar box in an upside-down akro box reduced to flakes of paper by water damage. The marbles are as-made Mint, but there is some fracturing, typical of the type. Sparklers are a staple of marble collecting, no collection is complete without one. They are also unique - Sparklers are the only type of marble exhibiting this particular method of construction - they are injected marbles, typically a crystal clear base with opaque white and colored strands, running from pole to pole. Akro marketed these as "New and different, sure to make friends among boys, who like to be "up-to-the-minute." Clear glass, with semi-opaque stripe of Delft Blue Topaz, Claret, Apple Green or Russet Yellow.
