Born in Idaho, Bruce Troeh first experienced glassblowing at an Iowa State University course in 1977. That was followed by 10 years of managing restaurants, working for stained glass studios as a painter, glass slumper, installer or production but he could never shake his desire to work hot glass. Eventually he found himself purchasing his first torch and in 1993 he crafted his first marble.
As Bruce explains "I love the color and impact of marbles. I like intensity and high contrast. Glass today has so much vivid color and diversity that it well keep me busy for the rest of my life just trying out new "stuff."
Bruce likes playing guitar with his grandaughter and
quips; "and I don't get to see my other 4 grandchildren in Chicago and San Diego nearly often enough!"
