Jane's interest in marbles began as a young child - marble playing was a springtime tradition in her Vermont school in the early '70s.
Jane says; "When my "official" collecting began in 1996, I learned from the Internet that there were clubs, shows, and tournaments! I saw references to marble making using beadmaking techniques, went to the library and found "Making Glass Beads" by Cindy Jenkins. I dreamed about working glass. I had to try this!"
Jane started out making "normal" sized marbles between 1/2" and 1". Then another marble maker challenged Jane to find out how small she could make them - the answer is an astounding 1/32" although 1/16" to 1/8" is her favorite size range.
Jane's peewee marbles are far smaller than anything that has ever been mass produced - the largest she currently offers is smaller than 1/4” in diameter, and the smallest size she offers is less than an 1/16” (1:12 scale). Initially produced for miniaturists, they have come to be loved and collected by marble collectors as well.
