The M.F. Christenson & Son company pioneered machine-made marble technology and operated in Akron, Ohio from 1904-1917. They are most famously noted for the "9's" appearing on their marbles, a relic of the process whereby hand gathered glass was allowed to drip into the machine which rounded them.
