When we acquired these spheres, they were identified as "Bloodstone" originating in India (with an original sticker price of $15 each). This mineral is primarily blood red with secondary banding of white to gray-black and/or bright yellow. These came from the Hawthorneden collection out of Ontario Canada - this couple traveled the world to acquire their pieces, and selected every piece themselves with an eye towards exceptional pattern and color; especially spectacular on these specimens - perhaps the best seen in this acquisition. You will not be disappointed.
