This gemstone is yellow to red-brown, with a unique silky luster called chatoyancy; an optical reflectance effect seen in certain gemstones - The effect can be likened to the sheen off a spool of silk, and arises from the fibrous structure of the mineral. This effect is best exhibited when the gemstone's surface is polished to a curve, so this marbles spherical shape shows it off to maximum advantage, giving it fantastic movement, flash and exceptional eye-appeal!
