Amazonite (also called "Amazon Stone") is a mineral of limited occurrence - as such this mineral is rarely seen cut into spheres of any size. Because of its bright green color when polished, amazonite is sometimes cut and used as a gemstone. These exceptional specimens came from the Hawthorneden collection out of Ontario Canada - this couple traveled the world to acquire their pieces, and selected every piece themselves with an eye towards exceptional pattern and color. (please note, Amazonite fractures more easily than other stones, and so is better suited for collecting than playing.)
