This gemstone is yellow to red-brown, with a unique silky luster called chatoyancy; an optical reflectance effect seen in certain gemstones - The effect can be likened to the sheen off a spool of silk, and arises from the fibrous structure of the mineral. This effect is best exhibited when the gemstone's surface is polished to a curve, so this marbles spherical shape shows it off to maximum advantage, giving it fantastic movement, flash and exceptional eye-appeal! What is fascinating about this mineral is the depth and transition in color from brown to gold. The appearance is almost fur-like as light illuminates the mineral. I will definitely order a few more!
