Jacob's marbles are individually hand-crafted using murrina to decorate the surface of the marble. Murrina are made from mosaic cane - a cane that has been made by bundling together other less complex canes and then stretching them (like taffy while hot), thus making one cane with a complex, multi-color design in the cross section. A murrina is a single cross section chip of mosaic cane. Jacob's marbles have a single, fire-polished pontil on the back/bottom on the marble and the murrina surrounding it are stretched towards it as they get closer. The pontil area itself is a clear window affording a view inside the marble. Jacob signs his work in this window.

This marble will be custom made to order, may vary slightly from the example shown & will ship separately from the rest of your order direct from the artist. Please allow up to 4-6 weeks for delivery.
