This is a unique and exquisite piece. High quality English solitaire board is handmade in England (not China) and features contemporary hand-made marbles crafted by various artists at Teign Valley Glass Studios in Devon England. Due to the hand-made nature of the marbles, every board is different and unique. The marbles measure about 1½" in diameter and each is a work of glass art in spherical form. The board is 33" in diameter, 1½" thick, and made of American Black Walnut finished with gloss polyurethane.
The game solitaire is said to have been invented by a prisoner of war held in the Bastille during the French Revolution. To play, start with the central space open, and jump marbles over adjacent marbles into vacant positions, removing the marble you jumped over. The goal is to remove all marbles except one, which ideally should remain in the central position.

This work will be custom made to order, may vary slightly from the example(s) shown & will ship separately from the rest of your order direct from the artist. Please allow up to 4-6 weeks for delivery.
