These marbles were recovered from a shipwreck off the coast of Long Island NY over the first decade of the new millennium. The ship was carrying a cargo which included beer steins, porcelain doll heads and German hand-made marbles. Glass handmades recovered from the wreck were eroded (apparently from sand and surf), but these glazed Crockeries weathered the punishment for 100+ years and they still have a wet mint shine! Only a small minority exhibit any damage, and even then it limited to some missing glaze or as-made touch marks. These are beautiful marbles!
These crockery marbles are unusual in that white is usually the base color, and the colors swirl on the white base. In this marble, the green is dominant, with white swirling on it.
A Certificate of Authenticity attesting to the provenance of your marble is included. COA's are printed on premium 100% cotton paper with watermark and bear a handwritten signature and raised foil seal embossed with the landofmarbles.com logo. COA's will be packed into a capped acrylic tube with the marble for protection.
