Wasn't sure if there was an existent Jabo forum to post these to...but I wasn't even sure they even are Jabos b/c there are a limited few that just don't quite fit the bill (like the Corona Lime that Nantucket ID'd). Tx for any input.
Some ID's "stick" with me; some don't. These two don't. Prob should; but they don't.
Hello good people's of the marble kingdom. I"m trying to find out what kind of marble this may be... ? It looks newer to me in a way... but it could be tricking me. I know it resembles a CAC swirl... but is it? Or is it a newer version... like a Vacor or something else?
Hope all had a great weekend! These are a few of the few shooters I have. I always figure they are foreign or reproductions.
First set prob "plain ole" WV swirl; but they both are oddish - off round and feel heavier than my others. (Do not look like any of my blue Jabo swirls at all.) Second set is a shooter size; and it is difficult to photograph but the ring on the top of the marble goes all around the top. The...
Not only do I get fantastic help on my "marble marble" ID's this forum even has someone knowledgeable about these types (Kiwiman)! I wish there was an equivalent of a Trip Advisor out there for me to extol the virtues of this site!!!
Not sure of these. First set are all slightly smaller than most of my regular sized mibs. Last mib is transparent blue; same as last mib in second set. There is one (again) that reminds me of a Jabo, yet seems just odd enough for me to hesitate on its ID. Tx.
Thank you so much for replying to my post. I have tried to do "research" online; have sorted my recent acquisitions into what I think is "logical" groupings; have watched Ebay sales for ID assistance; and while I am garnering some knowledge (I think I can "safely" identify a Vacro and a Bennington...
First group just lump into WV swirls? Second group, middle, guessing Jabo. I have so many of those but it seemed a bit diff in makeup b/c of the blue (wishful thinking I am sure.) Last, Vitro Blackie? I can't reiterate enough how invaluable all your input has been. When I first started this...
Most of these are from my great grandmother, who passed away over 20 years ago. I think I got these in the 80's and have no idea of the history of when she got them, so it could be mixed years.
Any ideas what kind of marbles they are or their value? Some have imperfections like dents or not...
The teal blue of two of the firs two is unusual in my lot of stuff. & brain cramp on blue/white striped one. I feel I SHOULD know, but I can't peg it. Tx.
I find it so hard to believe that a 100 yr old mib worth minimal value b/c of its condition? But I do believe it. Just sad. At 100 how can you be perfect?! And, yes, there are two pontils. One ruined by a hit.
I apologize if this post gets sent twice. My first one didn't seem to go thru. Anywho, my photog skills, or lack thereof, are making it difficult to capture the flatness of the floaters. In hand they appear to be; but I can see where pics make it look like chunks. Maybe these pics will be better....
1" to 1 1/2" Came from a 80 year old man who said he played with them as a kid.
Hi all. Can't seem to ID first (innocuous rolling towards ugly) mibs. Plain ole Marble King? Second group I'm guessing Vitro on far rite? Tx Cas
