  1. ID help on non glass marble

Hello All, I'm new here and was hoping someone could help identify this marble for me. It was given to me by a friend who said it was the most prized marble when he played marbles as a child twenty years some odd years ago. Is this a real marble or is it another object re purposed to be a marble...

  2. how to find out what a marble is worth

Once you've got a marble identified, what's the best way to find out how much it might be worth, if you don't necessarily want to get it formally appraised? I've got a bunch of marbles and I'm wondering about their value, but I don't necessarily want to sell them and I sure don't have enough...

  4. Stone Marbles Help

Just picked these up today and I was wandering if you guys could shed some light as to history and value. They are all about 3/4" in diameter (not all together round) and in mint condition. They are heavy, like stone. Thanks, Floyd

Can you all help me determine which are which.........identical colors, but some have the even veins of rainbos while others are swirls. Do I have these divided up correctly? The first two pics are what I have in my rainbo pile...........the last two pics are in my swirl pile. THANX, in advance.

  8. Painted Chinese Clay Rabbit Scene

Just dug from an 1870s privy. I'd love to know the history and rarity. Any ideas ? It's about the size of a nickel and in great shape.

  9. RED mica's

Both these marbles have mica. Both are very worn but I don't see any pontil marks. Are they suppose to have them? I know on sulfides they have only 1 and sometimes you can't see them. Any ideas?

  11. Contest! Contest! Contest!

Hey all. Last year after I ran a contest of my own, Pete asked me if I would like to host some contests for him. I had such a blast running my own, I figure running a contest where I don't have to part with any of my personal stash would be win-win. LOL. So here's the deal. I'm supplying the...

  12. New to the boards. Grandfather gave me some marbles. Any info on these?

I was given a LOT of marbles by my grandfather, I assume these are mostly German as he was stationed there when my mom was a little girl. Most of them do show slight to severe wear. Here are pics of some of them.

  13. Contest! Contest! Contest!

Alright, I think this might be fun. I'm out of the bidding already, so at least I can enjoy the action. I'll send the winner some nice stuff. Get the closest in dollars and cents to the final selling price of Lloyd's book, without going over, and you'll win some nice mibs. Newer board members,...

  15. Red "slags" with "9's"

sorry taboo topic, but I must ask again. I have been putting together a nice collection of only mint slags (couple of these are not mint for conversation sake), and I had these under my MFC pile. But then I found out that MFC did not have red in the formulary as far as onyx are concerned. ...
