My friends and I play a type of "Poison" game during recess and afterschool. Actually, about 40 of us play in different areas of our yard. I looked up a game called "poison" online, but our game is different. # of players: 2 or more (alone or in teams) playing field: a dirt area...
Hi, I made a simple prototype marble race that I would love for you to check out and provide some feedback on. I have some fun ideas for the future and really enjoyed making it. It's a five race series. Thanks everyone, have a great weekend :) Intro video: https://youtu.be/jrXGD5zNteQ...
Hey, I had a bit of fun and made another marble race, would love some feedback from you aficionados!!! https://youtu.be/pOnLTEsMcJ4 I primarily tried to make it appealing to children to get them into building/engineering and marbles. Please pass it on if you like it :) Cheers, Michael
Just wondering, if you are a marble player, can you tell us where you are from? I'm asking everyone reading this message :)
I don't know many "marble collectors" well, but the few I've met have one thing in common with me: we all have boxes of "junk" marbles that are either not collectible, or not worth keeping (duplicates, bad shape, etc). Looking for ideas and other participants! -As a community, could we donate...
I'm excited about playing marbles in Tampa Bay, Florida. No luck on the Internet search so far.
Kansas City's largest ever marble tournament record of 677 players fell after only 8 months. Their reign ran from August to May. The record is now held by an elementary school in Oregon. Over 750 players. Possibly a sign of increasing interest in the game?
I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma: part of the "Heartland." As cities go, it is small and many people are quite traditional in most aspects of life. But, just like the rest of the country, children and adults both would prefer to watch a movie, or play on the Wii versus scattering a few tiny spheres on the...
Sixty-five years old, attempting to explain the game of marbles to my grandkids. As a kid in WV, I was quite a hustler in a 5 or 6 foot dirt ring, but was never able to win the city tournaments playing on a hard wooden surface in the '50s. My reason for registering is to ask a question that may...
I am looking for information on the physics of playing a game of marbles for use in introducing elementary children to Newton's Laws. Can anyone provide links to resources that might apply? Thank you!
This game sounds quite fun, but I have read this post several times, but am unable to understand quite what the writer was trying to say. Can anyone provide me with a better description/more detail of how this game was played. I am sure people who have played this game before can make perfect sense...
I collect all kinds of marbles, of all kinds of sizes, but my favorite are the boulders. At least, I think they are boulders. My favorite is one made from the mineral sodalite, it is iridescent and about 1 3/4 inch in diameter. Somonetold me that marbles of this size are called "boulders", I have...
I am a grandpa that wants to teach my grandson how to play marbles. When I was a kid back in the early 1960's we played a marble game where we made a hole in the yard with the heel of our shoe. We than decided what shooting order we would shoot in, (pretty much like Luke Meyer's "poison" game)....
As a gradeschooler, we played a little different than most. We would toss them onto the ground and the take turns picking up your marble and toss it at the other. if it was a direct hit, you won the marble, we also did two nicks and you win.
