Bored in jury duty so I thought I'd start a thread about sorting marbles - I've done it enough!
The first thing I do when I have a big lot of marbles to go through is separate them into 4 groups: clearies, Opaques, cat's-eyes (that's the correct spelling as per Peterson & castle's guide) and...
...made me very happy yesterday!
I have a few other Blue Ravens, but the deep blue on this mib is stunning. Other is a nice 4-color clear Rainbo.
This came in the mail the other day. A bit harder to find than a Sunburst. Orange and Black with a clear base. I just happened to shine a black light on it and the clear base really lit up. Nice surprise.
A couple of beauties! (Translucent 'butterscotch' color base).
At first glance this is a pretty standard Peltier Multi Color Swirl. Photo one shows the expected Ying/Yang. Base is transparent green. But then there is this dark patch, basically opposite the ying/yang. It's on the surface and appears to be a translucent brown/black patch. Haven't seen anything...
Pelts of course.
Done with the K/M's!! and other one just interested me.
First up another pair of twins. Right one has been in my collection for a while. Left one is new. Not identical, but close.
And these in for my birthday today. Left is one very pretty Master and right a CAC Snotty. On my list for quite some time and...
I found this marble outside in the mud I measured it with something flimsy like what you measure ur waist with and it said 4 1/2 in. Which I measured it around. I've looked all over the Internet with no luck please help. It may just be a decrotive item that went with something else but I'd like to...
I've been asked about my Rainbo collection and decided to take some pictures of the main collection. I'm sure this isn't the most comprehensive grouping of Rainbos, but I've only been seriously collecting them for a bit more than a year. Comments are welcome.
Out of my comfort zone on these puppies;but. oh my.
Some of you were probably wondering where your replies to threads were. They were stuck in a moderation queue that I didn't know about until this morning. I have using the "New Posts" link at the top of the forum in the mistaken belief that I would see *all* new posts. Nope, Only new threads. Sigh....
Friend has got me looking for twins from some of my Peltier. Left one came in yesterday. Close. Base is a bit lighter, but I'm going to call it good.
A pair of Indians. Right one is kind of rough, but I'm loving the colors and I didn't spend much.
An aventurine Master. The green patch is absolutely full of aventurine.
And finally a very pretty Peltier...
Old vs. new.Well, I actually purchased the Vacor and like it.
Friend has been bugging me to put some order to my Peltier collection. Made an attempt this morning. I have a total of 4 1/2 boxes of this size for my Pelts and manage to get two of them in some kind of order. Found lots of dupes that will need to be bagged up and stored and quite a few orphans...
Came across this transparent blue based machine made Sulphide yesterday.
I've got marbles with bits of furnace brick and even sand. but this is the biggest chunk of brick I've found so far. Need to find a special place for this. :)
