  2. What do ya think?

Working with new lens and looking for opinions and suggestions. Do you think I'm close? Still need to get a remote trigger, less than half of what I shot was even presentable and definately not sharp enough. Don't forget to click on the pic for full image.

  3. Floral Frogs - Where can I find them?

Most people seem to use clear glass or acrylic floral frogs as stands for displaying/photographing small marble lots. I've seen some for sale on ebay, but wondering if anyone knows where to find them locally these days, particularly near Denver. I'd love to hear any other ideas people have for...

  7. Technical Question

I recently noticed, by accident, that my pictures on resolutions other than native look distorted. I run my display at 1680 x 1050, and at this resolution all my pics are fine. If I change the display resolution, the pics are distorted. It made me wonder if other people running different...

I have been experimenting with taking marble pics with my new digital camera. I like the underwater shots because there are no hot spots. However I am having problems with tiny pinpoint bubbles adhering to the surface of the marbles which messes up the pics to the max! tried rubbing marbles...

  12. What am I doing wrong?

I can get somewhat decent pics of certain marbles, leave all settings the same and switch out mibs and get bad shots. I don't like the large light reflections, but not having a flash keeps me limited to using these lamps. Anyway, look at the brick photos....they are not too bad, although nothing...

  15. What needs to be in the picture(s) for identification, appreciation?

This was asked a while back, but I'm not sure I saw a definitive answer. What views or angles of still photographs will convey enough for identification or esthetic appreciation? -- if there's a source on the Web, I haven't found it -- all links and pointers welcome -- Cat's eye I think I...
