    Re: Ebay auction....

Yeah, that seller (onemomnson2) has been doing pretty good with the Vacors listed as Vintage. They sold another Vacor Serpent last week as a Pelt Superman for $58.75. Check out the link below.

    http://murl.se/22953

Didn't hurt the buyer too bad with this Vacor listed as a Pelt Tiger though..............only $9.98 They sold another one like it for $7.50. They've sold 2 other Vacors for about the same money as Pelt Superboys. At that rate, it's pretty profitable to sell Vacors as vintage Pelts, isn't it?

    http://murl.se/22954

Did you see their CACs this week, Galen? :laffi: OMG, one's a Vacor and the other's a beat-up WV swirl. They've also sold 2 of the modern Chinese handmades as vintage hand-made. "Vintage TWISTED SOLID CORE- HAND MADE - 22MM--Sold for $13.57 each"

NOT A VINTAGE SOLID CORE HANDMADE!
    (modern Chinese handmade)

Marble collectors............TAKE HEED! These are modern Vacor de Mexico marbles and can be purchased for $1.00 or less!

Here's some pics of modern Vacor de Mexico marbles from their listings.

NONE OF THESE ARE A PELTIER (BURNT OR OTHERWISE ) SUPERMAN! (modern Vacor de Mexico)

THIS IS NOT A "Christensen Agate Opaque Swirl"! (modern Vacor de Mexico)

NEITHER OF THESE ARE A PELTIER TIGER! (modern Vacor de Mexico)

NOT A PELTIER SUPERBOY! (modern Vacor de Mexico)

If you like modern marbles but want to pay the correct price for these, check out the Marble Shop here on Land of Marbles. (go to the top of the board to the drop down menu on the right) Or go to the Rainbow Turtle's website...........they have lots of modern marbles at great prices too.

    Re: Ebay auction....

When will it ever end. It is not like it is that hard to find out who really made a certain marble and it is FREE. Some people I guess just get their thrills screwing the inexperienced. To top it off these people do not care if they are told it is the wrong description or not. How do they sleep at night with no morals or sense of what right or wrong. I better stop before i say something I will regret later. I just quit smoking and I have a very short fuse and I really hate morons. Thats all I have to say about that (for now anyway)

Holy Cow I just figured out what I am doing wrong. I have some marbles listed on Ebay and they are not selling. I have the proper description on them. I should list them as HTF Rare handmade german wire pulls. Not Vitro caged cats. Also list the others as hard to find transitionals not corks. Shoot, BY jove I think I've got it. What a dummy, I just need to lie thru my marble bag
    Thanks

How about a category here called 'Absurd or Incorrect E-bay listings' for all to check. It would be an amazing service.

Nadine great idea but getting people to come here to get educated is another thing. If all the people that belong to this board would make a reference to LOM in there auction item more people might just come and see what the real marbles look like. I think the people who are buying these fakes have never reall y seen one. We need to educate the uneducated. But they have to come to LOM do do this. Any thoughts folks. Have to do chores will continue this later.
    Thanks

    HI Everyone  ,
I hope that my absence doesn't mean that I've been booted off LOM . I have been trying to keep up with the reading and just found this, soooooooooo, I sent them an e-mail asking why they would offer a full refund when they know that these are not Vintage mibs, but Vacors. :jpshakehe
Maybe one way to stop these people is to buy these :ultimate_ , then file the complaint and get the refunds.
    Just a thought :speed_eek

    Re: Ebay auction....

Pat do you really think that would stop them. Maybe if the buyer knew what the real thing looked like, but then why buy it if you know real from fake. I think the best way to stop all these people is to hit the largest number of unsuspecting people that we can. How about if when we list something on Ebay even if non marble related. We put something in the ad that says something like if you have marbles to sell, or are looking to sell or are looking to buy go to land of Marbles. This way you know what you have and if buying if it is what it is advertised as. Does this make any sense.or did I just ramble again.:soapbox: I think might be a way to hit more unsuspecting people at a time.
    Thanks

It would be a good idea to put this in your real ads if you sell marbles, that would point us newbies in the right direction when we're looking at auctions.
