    Size of Shooters

    Hey my first post here.

I wanted to get some feedback on the size of shooters that come with most of the nets from mega marbles. They are all 1", but from what I have read the tournament size for a shooter is 3/4 or less. Is a larger marble easier to shoot with and what do most people shoot with? Why not sell a proper shooter with the net's?

What about for my kids ages 5 and 10 should they use the 3/4 or the inch?

Just want to get a lot of opinions on the proper shooter size or does it really matter?

From my understanding, 3/4" is a much better size to cup in your finger for shooting. 1" is just much too large to control and shoot properly.
A 1" marble is nice for Eye appeal due to the larger size.. Also easier to make (IMHO).
I'm sure others may have more input on this...
Welcome to the Board.. Hope we hear more from you!!!

Shooters by the rules must be no larger than 3/4". That is a very good question. Peace,Galen

Everybody is different...a Shooter for me has to be larger than 11/16" (but not 11/16") up to 3/4" anything larger than that Ive called "Bolders".

Mega, which is the US marketing company for Vacor out of Mexico (who actually makes the marbles) has a variety of different size marbles. They put that 1 incher in the 24+1 nets probably without even thinking about the reality of shooting with that marble - more marketing than practicality.

Thanks, that makes sense. Well I decided to buy a few shooters so when my nieghbors come over I can make them play with some real shootes and I'm going to make a shuffle board carpet and am going to use 1 inch boulders to play with.
