    A newbie pondering Pelt Rainbos

I have been debating on which forum to post this and this is where I landed.
I recently had 2 marbles ID'ed as Pelt Rainbos and I, as the newbie, am looking at these 2 very different marbles and wondering how that ID was made. As I'm looking though past posts trying to see similarities, I'm seeing the same thing.. lots of very different colors and styles being IDed as Rainbo.
Can someone shed some light for as to what give a marble away as a Rainbo?

    Here's a box of rainbos:

They can have different numbers of ribbons. 4 is a common number. They can have different base colors. Sometimes the ribbons bleed and blend. The color combinations seem endless.

rainbos are my favorite marbles. and you're right, they have a lot of variety - but they do follow a basic "pattern" for the most part, which is some form of a baseball pattern.

the most basic has 4 ribbons - two on each side that form two "rings" that surround the marble.

    variations can include the following:
    • Some will have 2 on one side and a “brush” (or blended ribbons) of color on the other side.
    • Some will have two ribbons on one side, and just one on the other.
    • Some have two fat brushed ribbons and you can see a “bleed” on the edges that looks like thin ribbons.

i could give more examples, but i just realized this is probably not very helpful without pictures. if you're comfortable sending me a PM with your mailing address, i'd love to send you a sample of "types" so you can see and compare for yourself (i think galen or al will vouch for me that i'm not a weirdo-stalker
