    Looking for Big Damaged Handmades

I'm looking for some bigger size damaged handmades to restore. Looking for German Swirls, Onionskins, Sulphides, etc. I'll pay cash, do a trade with vintage marbles, or trade off polishing services. Let me know what ya' got via PM.

    Thanks, Jim.

No implication, more of an observation, and I didn't mean to offend, or single anyone out. It just seems lately that everywhere you look there are multiple people selling Jabos and posting links. I'm just gettin' the feelin' that it's gettin' like that annoying commercial, "Head On, apply directly to the forehead, Head On, apply directly to the forehead." Just an opinion, that's all.

I understand what you mean I used to feel the same way everytime I heard "Its just a Jabo". I heard that one too many times and decided to learn alittle about them and realized how beautiful some of them are. Maybe that is why there are more people posting links about Jabos for sale. People are discovering how Sweet some of them really are. Just an opinion, that's all.

Re: Looking for Big Damaged Handmades

Hi Roger, I never said that the listings didn't belong here. And this is not really the place for a debate about Jabo marbles. All I did was mention that there has been a ton of Jabo promotion everywhere, sometimes different sellers "trumping" each other's posts with more ads to get top billing. It's just a pattern that I have noticed, and is just my OPINION, which I am entitled to. If you don't mind seeing it, fine, that is your OPINION. Keep in mind that there are a lot of others that feel as I do.

And yes, this is the buy, sell, trade section. I run constant marble auctions but don't post the links on any of the forums. I have my own personal feelings about that practice, and choose at this time to keep it to myself.

If you feel the need to jump on me for mentioning an observation, well then knock yourself out. I guess only certain individuals are allowed to have an opinion on this forum. That's why I only post here once every few months anymore. So adios Amigos, see y'all in a few months.

Re: Looking for Big Damaged Handmades

Opinions are good but using the word "spam" sounded like a (JMHO) dig at Jabos. I'm sure you didn't mean it that way and I have been on the receiving end of "certain individuals opinions". IMHO Jabo lovers get touchy because of the attitude of so many "antique marble collectors" who over the years have dissed Jabos. Makes me personally feel like the "gate crashing relative" they are there but you'd rather not put up with them but because they are there........ Again JMHO

    Jim and Derrick~~
I haven't seen a "CAC Spam" or "Akro Spam" or "Pelt Spam" comment made by any Jabo collectors but if you can find one in this forum I will eat my hat! LOL

Re: Looking for Big Damaged Handmades

Hello, I just counted up all the posts for marbles in the past quarter (that's three months) listed in this buy sell & trade forum.

For sale or wanted or links, whichever, here is the breakdown:

    Akro 12
    Pelt, MK, Vitro 17
    Handmades 5
    Chinas 2
    Torched Jabos 1
    Collections (no Jabo) 10
    Cateyes 5
    Wanted/Trade/other 6
    CAC 3
    WV Swirls 7
    Jabos 11

Everything seems in line to me as far as equal sharing of the Buy Sell & Trade forum.

We are all here every single day (nearly) and we don't claim to just pop in to self- promote (which is the whole idea behind this forum btw) every few months or so or whatever.

How could you possibly get irritated so easily in just one visit Jim?

Can't we all just learn to live together please?

    Hey Roger,

My kinda Guy!! From my thoughts to your fingers you tally was what I wanted to do but didn't have time to do yet. Thank you for the effort. Do you walk dogs too...??

The only time I bother putting something in this thread is if it is Really SWEET IMHO. I think my tally is Jabos 2 Akro 1.

Maybe the price of fuel has everyone a little touchy and it spills into Playtime...Just a thought....LOL
