macro

when ever i use the macro on my sony cybershot H2, I always need the flash because its dark in here and I dont have any type of photo tent thingie.. so the flash washes it out and it creates a shadow in the photo.. i usually have to stand far back and just zoom way in. does everyone use some kind of photo tent?

the only thing I know about cameras is the auto setting and point and shoot, but i think my camera (its old but works beautifully) has more potential than I know what to do with it

anyone have any info/ideas with my cam? how can i get good pics with it?

use the p setting (experiment) it takes a while. Find a setting that you can set the flash to a lesser degree of intensity.

First off, I have no photography setup, no lights tripods nothing, just my camera (coolpix p100). I'm quite new at taking marble pics, but I prefer to take pictures outside when the sun is pretty much directly overhead...no flash needed. Although certain color marbles seem to give me a pretty hard time in the sun so you have to play with light balance a little (if you can). Maybe try a little shade if the light is too intense.
