Possible Slag with much surface damage, but maybe not too deep?

Okay I promise not to mention countertop repair...........although I did get a much needed laugh out of that last thread...... This is a brown what I would call a "slag", but has a lot of surface damage, I'd call hit marks, but no real chunks. Since it's 1.25" diameter, makes me wonder if it'd be worth some type of repair. I am just collecting for now, but have looked at the polishing machine instructions and it's not beyond my abilities, so has me a bit interested. So what are general thoughts about this one? I'm not great at ID'ing, so not even sure it's anything "real" special. I am not sure I'd call that a "9", but it does have some nice lines. There is at least one bruise, so I know there might be a risk of losing a spot or two.
