    2 free handmades

While at my first marble convention, I walked by a taped off area in a patch of land full of trees and leaves. After asking about it, the lady standing next to it told me that marbles were scattered around inside as a scavenger hunt for the kids. She said that I could go in and take a few marbles from the ground, though. She said they weren't needed for anything. Unsure of why I should bother, I went inside.

There were mostly new machine-mades inside, but I decided to look around anyway. I was surprised when I spotted this brightly colored hand-made swirl in the leaves. Not my best marble, but pretty good for being free! I also found a blue bennington on a tree stump.

It's better than most I have, so what a deal! I think that's great that the shows do this to include the younger set. It's a great idea.

Agreed. ^^^^ I think many kids would be interested in taking up marbles as a hobby, or at least getting interested in them.

Honestly once I find a little time, I Might even want to look into some of the old marble games. My mom (passed away 2 years ago at 90) used to take other kids lunch money when she went to school! So too late to challenge her (she would have taken me anyhow....) but still, I'll have to look into the games that have driven the creation of many of these incredible gems. Now back to the original topic of "Scores". I haven't scored anything this week, but, I'm still hopeful!
