What are my options for badly damaged marbles?

I have two marbles that are badly damaged. One is a large figural one with a rabbit that is so beat up I can barely see inside and it has a large piece missing ... If ground down and polished it could end up just large enough to encase the rabbit well enough. The other is a very large german marble that isn't missing any glass but has lots of dings that cannot be seen through. I would like to enjoy these and wonder what my options are. Is it something I can do myself? Anyone affordable and reliable? I don't have a lot to spend... But its a shame to not be able to see the designs.

On occasion I have reconditioned sulphides that were really beat up as yours appears to
be. I won't promise a complete restoration, but I can certainly make it so you can see the figure inside. Any opinions on what I should do with the German handmade swirl???

The same reconditioning as with a sulphide, but limited to the amount of top glass on the poles. To little and the ends will open which isn't to bad provided there is a ghost core as I have found in several German handmade marbles. ----Leroy---- P.S. The main problem with doing German handmade marbles is that the first thing to go are the pontils.

Badly damaged marbles have a few options:
-enjoy the beat up marble for what it is
-stick it in a drawer someplace so you don't need to worry about it
-Give refinishing a shot to help see what age/damage is hiding
