I would have to wonder if a tumbler would give the marbles more of a frosted look like you see with sea glass. Of course I don't know anything about this so I am curious as well. What do the marble experts have to say about this? I'd really like to know as this is something I have thought about as well.

Re: Rock Tumbling affective way of polishing Q & A

More years ago than I like to remember, I had many, many marbles that were hurt and I set out to find out how I could heal them. One of the methods that I tried was a Rock Tumbler. It didn't work out for me as my marbles came out looking like footballs. I finally settled on three headed Sphere machines. These work very well. ----Leroy----

Odds are against you with a rock tumbler. The machine that Leroy mentions is probably the most effective and predictable way of 'fixing' a marble.

Tumblers exaggerate any dings in a marble. Not a good way to do marbles if you want to keep them round.

At the present time I don't know where a person can get the motors. I keep an eye on several sights as once in awhile they will have the kind of motors we need. When they do they don't last long before they are all bought up. There are several listing for motors the size that we need but they are not continuous duty and will not work for our purpose. Maybe someone has a source an if so I hope they will let us in on it. ----Leroy----
