Hi, these clays are puzzling me...

I bought them with the old clay and bennington (also in the photo) and other german handmades which were all together on a handmade marble display board. They were part of a marble collectors collection.

the feel of the marble, the not round shape and uneven surface makes me think they are old, but the colours are sooo bright that i wonder if they are modern paints? they are hardly even chipped so if they are old i doubt they have been played with.

Anyone seen anything like this before? perhaps they are original, but never seen the light of day and therefore not faded?

    i'd love an expert opinion!

Wow! Thanks very much for the identification help. Is there any other information about birth eggs? I can’t see anything on google. Are they common?

I wonder why they are called birth eggs?!

Hahaha ‘Birth eggs’! Thanks for clarifying. The only similar marbles I can find are these. Are these ones older than the bird’s eggs?

Winnie, I’m from the UK. I notice this forum is great for US marbles, but I guess many of mine originate from Europe and Germany. Which is the best forum for European marble help? Thanks so far!

I think those on page #5 are the same.
I'm from the Netherlands and here they're fairly common,I think they're unknown in America but many foreign marbles are well known here,
I've learned a lot here and also on "marble connection"thats another forum.
Here're some of my bird's eggs.
