I was wondering if anyone knew of an easy way or the way in general to clear this up? They are cloudy on the surface and I want to bring them back to life.
Some collectors will say to leave as-is. If you put the marble under water it should give you a quick idea of what the marble/pattern is. For a more permanent solution, polishing the marble (grinding down the hazy glass on a machine) can be done.
I tried polish and no luck there is a layer of something preventing it. I attached a picture the one on the left is good to go but the one on the right is dull garbage. Thanks
Leroy was the only guy I personally have dealt with, but there are probably a couple others around. Unfortunately Leroy passed away in the last year or so (RIP).
Worth adding: some people had decent results by hand using a diamond grit polishing pad. Not ideal method for keeping the marbles spherical but if you just want to take off the layer of rough glass, at least you don't need a machine. I've also seen a rock tumbler used (cringe-worthy) with decent results.
