Malware gone?

I just herard from my webhost providers:

"Peter, I forgot to let you know we had found a few places it was coming from. Some of your users' avatar's had been replaced with php code and a .htaccess file had been added to serve the .gif extension as a php document, so these scripts were only running on certain threads where certain users had posted which is probably why not everyone was seeing them. I think we got all the files that had been modified cleaned up, but some had been from many months ago when I think you had an FTP password compromise."

Cripes, I've no idea what he means, but it sounds like he might have wiped us of the junk. It turns out vB4 isn't ready yet (I had bought a presale license - but I still have to wait until it's released, and there's no info on when that will be. I hope it'd be soon, if they are preselling it...they can't make me wait forever after taking payment - I hope.

Anyway, it promises to have more malware defenses than the current forum (which will be defeated in due time, I am certain) but hopefully it will ease our headaches around here from the spambots, malware and the other scum...

I used to get them almost everytime i visited, but not any more. They must have found the filthy bugs!
