Buy a Polishing Machine here!

http://www.landofmarbles.com/pc/mibm...-supplies.html

Please see the above link. Very soon we will be offering marble polishing machines for sale. This is a "bare-bones" 3-head model that uses a slurry of polishing grit and water to grind away damage.

We will also be offering optional diamond cups - they have bits of polishing pad right in the cups, so slurry is not needed, and they can be left running unattended.

Here are some before and after shoots:

Re: Buy a Polishing Machine here!

I wanted to ask collectors here if you would have a look at the new polishing machine listing, and let me know if it leaves you with any questions:

I also added the optional diamond polishing cups as a product:

Can you please take a look and LMK what questions crop up in your head, even if you aren't in the market for a polishing machine?

Re: Buy a Polishing Machine here!

Are you going to offer the machine's with regular heads, and then a machine with the diamond heads?
I think that would be better than just offering the machine with regular heads and then have to add on the diamond one's..

Re: Buy a Polishing Machine here!

Well, the machine would be identical, the diamond heads screw onto the same drive shafts at the "regular" heads. The plan right now is to offer the bare-bones machine, which can be used with an abundance of pipe fittings, couplers or reducers found at any hardware store to polish marbles of different sizes. It would ship with a free set of heads. If you want diamond heads, you'd buy the machine, plus the diamond heads, which is an upgrade. I guess the guy making these wouldn't charge any less for the machine without heads. I guess he considers them to be of negligible value.

This is all still very much in the works. I just get excited about projects in the works and spill the beans before things are really ready to roll. I shouldn't do that, but especially because these are geared towards the collector market, I wanted to solicit some input from collectors as the offering was being put together.

I'll consider your thoughts though, maybe I should offer the option of either kind of head with the machine, and also sell the diamond cups as a stand-alone product. I'm not going to get into selling pipe fittings as polishing cups, because they can be had at any local hardware store. We will include everything you need to know to get your hands on the right parts though...

Re: Buy a Polishing Machine here!

Hi Pete,

Polisher Paul here again.

I have been really busy with the glass work and not on the board lately.

After 10 years of running my machines I lost a small motor to old age and fatique, just like me. Not finding one that would bolt to to the old machine, I built new one. This one has improvements that work well. No more sagging heads with heavy marbles. Dircet drive to the heads. Diamond resin materials on the heads is also new. Felt heads instead of wood now.
I can still offer a "top of the line" machine at the old prices, less heads.
Feel free to contact me if you or the board is interested.
Regards, Polisher Paul
