These marbles are nearly opaque brown except fro some very thin green swirling. A nice example of the earthy tones Ravenswoods are known for.

Here is the provenance of this marbles, as told to me by Ron Simplican, who provided me with them: "These Ravenswoods came from the son of the man who was contracted to dismantle and move a marble machine from the factory in Ravenswood, WV to some place out west. He was helping his father and found many cases of marbles in the storage area when they were at the factory. He loaded up quite a few cases of marbles and took them home. This was prior to the 1987 find but I do not know when. When he opened them later he found just about all of the cases were paint can marbles. There were only five cases of the good collectable marbles. Over the years his children had literally scattered one case of the good marbles all over the place. When I got out of the car at his house they were lying everywhere in the gravel driveway and yard. He sold me the remaining four cases of the good marbles in May of 1992 and gave the money to the church he was then Pastor for."
