Sabina Boehm’s natural talent has always drawn her to the arts. In Seattle in the mid 90’s as the Borosilicate art glass movement gained momentum, she fell into an apprenticeship. She spent those first few years working in small shops, and garages, trying to gain knowledge wherever she could. “I knew Borosilicate was in the Renaissance era, and, it really excited me.” She said. This medium appeals to her femininity. And the meditative creation process has kept her blowing ever since. When she stared making marbles full time, it seemed to make sense. Winning the Eugene Glass School Flame off in 2005, in the marble category, has definitely given her the encouragement she's needed to continue to pursue her love for the art. She splits her time now between the love of marbles and the love of glass itself, working part time for Momka's Glass; "Manufacturer and wholesale distributor of the finest quality borosilicate glass rods."
